It was a very beautiful day, after all, and the walk was just what Taranthu needed to think things over and maybe try to clear her head. After a few minutes, they came across a young man in a green jumpsuit and orange legwarmers running around like a headless chicken on his hands. Tsuki looked at the man, horrified.

“Run, before he looks at you! It’s Gai!” A flicker of recognition flashed in Taranthu’s eyes, and she looked at her friend in terror. Just as they were about to run, they heard a booming voice from behind them. Slowly, they turned and locked eyes with the man.

“Ah! Two beautiful young girls in the blossom of youth!” He flashed them his trademark grin before Tsuki collapsed to the ground, convulsing. “The light! It burns! Oh, my god! Save me! It can’t be legal to mentally scar young children with that outfit!” She looked up at her friend, horrified.

“No! Don’t look at him! Shield your eyes! Save your innocence!” But it was too late. Taranthu was viciously banging her head against a piece of soft grass. “My eyes!” she shrieked. Tsuki got up and began beating her head violently against a tree trunk before a firm hand grabbed her head to stop it.

“You’ll give yourself a concussion.” Tsuki spun around. “Kakashi!” She pouted. “You mean you want that image of a twenty-year-old running around in spandex showing his forbidden area burned into my mind forever?!” she said wildly. “It’s not even that I wanted to look! It was just out of my peripheral vision and I’m already freaking out!” She grabbed his shoulders and began shaking him wildly.

Suddenly, a square orange book fell out of Kakashi’s pocket. Before he could do anything, though, Tsuki had snatched up the book and started running, dragging Taranthu along behind her. “I got the book! Run!” They both ran out of the area, cackling loudly. Kakashi and Gai exchanged glances. “What was that about?”
“Dude! People are staring at us!”

“I know! This is hilarious! Ero-jii isn’t a very good writer, but I love how people are staring at us!” They cackled madly before pretending to read the book again.

Suddenly, a shadow fell over them. Looking up, they saw the masked face of a clearly non-amused Kakashi. There was a silence before Tsuki spoke. “May I help you?” Taranthu doubled over in laughter, and the corner of Tsuki’s mouth twitched, obviously trying to repress a smile.

“Yes. You can start with giving my book back.”

“I don’t have it.”

“I see it in your hands.”

“No you don’t.”

“Yes I do.”

“Nope.”

“Yes.”

“Nuh-uh.”

“Yes.

“I don’t have your book.”

“Yes you do.”

“No I don’t.”

“Yes, you do.”

“Nope.” Kakashi sighed and rubbed his eye. This was getting them nowhere. “Listen, just give me the book and –“ But the two girls were gone. He looked around and saw their retreating backs disappear around the corner. Sighing, he poofed away and appeared in front of them, making Tsuki bump into his chest and fall down.

She looked up at Kakashi with a look of mock defiance on her face. “Give me back my book,” Kakashi ordered. Hm. That was odd. He never ordered anyone around anymore, just when he was on missions. Then again, no one ever stole his beloved book before.

“NEVER! VIVA LA RESISTANCE!” Tsuki began cackling, unaware of the fact that everyone on the street, including Kakashi, was staring at her blankly. She got up and ran in a random direction, giggling evilly all the way. Taranthu just lay on the sidewalk, laughing so hard she couldn’t breathe. “H-help me!” she choked out before bursting out in another fit of laughter.

At that moment, Tsuki ran up. “MAN DOWN!” she yelled, jumping on top of her friend so she lay sprawled across her back. This just made Taranthu laugh even more. Kakashi just stared down at them, a blank look on his face. Just what the hell were these girls on?

They looked up at him happily before standing up. Tsuki gave Kakashi his book – which was still in near-mint condition – back with a grin. “That was fun. We should do that again, ‘Kashi,” she said. Tsuki waved goodbye to him before taking her friend’s hand and skipping off happily.

Okay. Now Kakashi was completely confused.
